Rosa Mystica

A human re-portraiture of the Blessed Virgin Mary.  ‘Rosa Mystica’ translating as ‘mystical rose’.  There are three small cross elements within the work, representing the three roses Mary wears. The significance of a trio of elements, links to many representations of Mary. “Mary links special prayer intentions to the three roses she wears instead of the three swords of previous apparitions.” Along with Mary’s message being summarised as the triplet: prayer, sacrifice and repentance.
